McDonald’s Hello Kitty Bubbly World Collector’s Set

Finally ordered a set. I kept contemplating and wondering if I should cos I already have about 40 other Hello Kitties stored in my wardrobe. Gave in to temptation in the end. It’s just so cute!!

In case you’ve no idea what I’m talking about, its the McDonald’s special collection of Hello Kitty for the mouthless cat’s 40th anniversary. It showcases Hello Kitty dressed up as her friends.

Chanel inspired nails @ Glitzy Fingers

I last had nail art done for my wedding in 2010 by Cynthia Nails. This time round, my friend recommended me to try out Glitzy Fingers, who does manicures with Gelish. I often see her with gorgeous nail art so I decided to give it a go and we made a lunch-time appointment.

The salon isn’t cramped and they had a basket of nail art to select from.

Circus, Woodland Animals or Royal Fantasy? (Part 1)

If you’re wondering what the title of this post is referring to, they are themes I’m considering for the kids’ playroom and bedroom. So I’m just gonna post a few ideas I have in mind. The actual re-decoration starts in July, so I have plenty of time to think about what I want to do and change.

I’d been staying with my parents since having Elise and it’s about time we start planning to move home with the kids. Which means I need to plan the rooms plus furniture layout, install window grilles, repaint the home, replace some furniture and electronics too.

It’s both fun and frustrating doing research online. The US sites always showcase gorgeous decor but seldom can you find cheap or free international shipping. Hopefully I can find things to match within my budget. Let’s check out the Circus theme for their playroom today.

Too fast

It feels just like yesterday when I was still heavily pregnant with Ryan and in just 2 weeks time, he will be turning 1! Elise and Ryan, they are growing up so fast! Sometimes I feel it’s too fast, I’m still trying to enjoy the baby phase where they babble and giggle.

Direct hiring a foreign domestic helper (maid) – Part 2

This is a continuation to my previous post – Direct hiring a foreign domestic helper (maid) – Part 1.

The last step in Part 1 was about registering your maid for the Settling-In Programme (SIP). Now we shall continue on to her arrival in Singapore.

Meet and Greet Service by Plaza Premium

Being without an agent, you should be aware that your maid might be a first-time traveller. She might not have any fellow counterparts travelling along her, and she will have to figure out a way to ask for directions to Immigration, to baggage collection, then to meet you outside, and she might not even know how you look like! So what I did was to hire a Meet and Greet Service by Plaza Premium Airport Services. Continue reading

Direct hiring a foreign domestic helper (maid) – Part 1

I have had so many maid woes ever since 2012. My mum has been lucky, the first maid worked with her for 6 years. She took care of me when I was 4 till 10 years old and recently she found me on facebook, I’m so happy to see her doing well. Her second maid, worked 10 years. And now the current one is 8 years, and she is like a sister to me. After meeting a few who are not suitable, she recommended me her cousin… which leads me to writing this post in hope it might help anyone who intends to do a direct hire and doesn’t want to pay exorbitant agent fees. (Note: This is only if the maid you intend to employ has never worked in Singapore before.)

Chanel – Le Blanc Immediate Brightening Oil-Gel Makeup Remover

Lately, I’ve been on a Chanel cosmetics spree. It started out with their CC Cream, then a lipstick or two or maybe three, nail polishes, foundation/blusher/eye shadow brushes, facial wash, moisturizer. And now my latest loot is the Immediate Brightening Oil-Gel Makeup Remover from their Le Blanc range. (PS: will post about the other stuff I have in later posts)

Lady M @ Marina Square

The colleagues decided to have lunch at Marina Square last week and I told them, “ok! You guys gotta let me buy back some cakes from this place I’ve been hearing about!”

So I had a very simple lunch at the food court – apple and pear pork rib soup with rice.

Fortunately there was no queue, the crowd only started building up after I placed my order. Phew.

The packing took quite a while cos they gently cut a slice from each cake with a clean knife which seems to be kept dipped in hot water. Then another staff will place it in a box. Those who are in a hurry might have to take note, a lady behind us was rather impatient.

Some who order a single slice will worry that it might slide around during transport and you end up with mashed cake instead, if you know what I mean. But no worries here! They actually put in a divider to prevent that from happening!

In short, ordered a lot, ate a lot, paid a lot. But totally worth it!

Les Exclusifs de Chanel – Beige

I’m in love with a new scent! Was at the Chanel boutique, Ion Orchard purchasing my moisturiser and facial wash, and I asked to try on the scent, Beige. The very nice SA offered to spray it directly onto my wrist, so that I can decide if it suits me. That was 10:30AM. By 4PM, I could still smell the scent of it and I fell head over heels in love with Beige.

BEIGE
A nectar fragrance

“I take refuge in beige because it’s natural,” said Mademoiselle Chanel. She loved all shades of this colour, which evokes both the skin and elegance. Behind its apparent simplicity, a discreet sensuality builds slowly before revealing itself fully. A sensual outburst interpreted by Jacques Polge through a bouquet of hawthorn, freesia and frangipani, with shimmering hints of honey. A stunning blend of white petals and yellow gold… In other words, a breath of Beige.

I’m currently using the entire range of Chanel No. 5 products – Eau de Parfum, Hair spray, Deodorant, Body cleansing cream, Body Lotion etc. I use some of them to layer, especially in the evening when I want to drift into blissful perfumed sleep. Been wanting to get the travel perfume spray, cos I can’t bring a glass perfume bottle out in my bag. But now, with this new Beige scent lingering in my mind, I just cannot decide what to get? How Now Brown Cow?
